I see alot of people saying we need to be more environmentally sound, but what I do not see is anyone REALLY teaching the younger generations, since they are the ones who would have to carry that on with them. Instead we are teaching our kids lack of personal responsibility. What gives? Or are people just trying to find things to cry about?

They are just trying to cry. The thing is, we need to live responsibly in our environment, but we still need to live. A lot of the things we can do to help the environment, also help manage our resources. Parents need to show their children how to save money and the environment.
I must say that I agree with what your saying. We are the stewards of this place we call home. It is our responsibility to protect the environment for future generations. I think we owe the children that much. It comes down to parenting, does it not?
I always advise young people not to smoke, but the big Tobacco Companies just keep advertising and targetting young people.
I see a lot of crying about conservation and ecology and a lot of people running around crying the sky is falling. However, most of those people are trying to get others to act but do little themselves. It’s usually something for the other person to do. That includes teaching their children. Most people expect somebody else to do that too.
Why take responsibility when you can blame someone else? Oh yeah and lets not teach them that sometimes you win and sometimes you lose cause that could hurt their self esteem. We are raising a bunch of me now self serving kids that will be dependent on government for everything. We are basically creating a slave class for the few that are able to rise above that thinking. If you look at the quotes from those who shaped our national public education system(look at what the heads of the dept of ed said 1920-1955) That was exactly the point of creating the Dept of Ed on a federal level.
Here’s a wild and crazy concept: teach the younger generations by setting an example ourselves.
